Oceanarium
The St. Petersburg Oceanarium is a true landmark. It was created in 2006 on the initiative of the Rubin Central Design Bureau for Marine Engineering, a world leader in submarine design and Russia's leading submarine design bureau, and was designed by Finnish architect Hannu Laitila. A visit to the Oceanarium is a true treat for both adults and children. It occupies approximately 5,000 square meters and houses 48 aquariums. The largest aquarium is home to 23 sharks, which you can admire while riding a moving walkway in an underwater tunnel. The tropical forest, rocky cave, and coral reefs are home to nearly 5,000 creatures, including 150 different species of fish, invertebrates, and mammals. You'll see seahorses, living coral reefs, clownfish, piranhas, moray eels, and seals.
